SAT MATHS PRACTICE

Turn SAT Maths practice into a diagnostic process.

Do not measure progress only by the number of questions completed. Classify errors, retrain the underlying skill and return to mixed timed work to check that the method transfers.

Start from the cause of each mistake

Separate content errors from reading errors, calculator errors and timing errors. Two students with the same raw score can need completely different revision plans.

Use short focused sets

When a topic is weak, work in short sets that repeat the underlying structure with different wording. Once accuracy is stable, mix the topic with unrelated questions so recognition becomes part of the task.

Train pacing deliberately

Timed practice should include a move-on rule. A difficult question should not consume the time needed to protect several easier marks later in the module.

Review for transfer

After solving a question, ask what feature should have signalled the method. That one sentence is often more valuable than copying the full solution because it improves future recognition.
